Since 2013, I have been the gal behind the lens at Glass Menagerie Photography. Based out of Eldorado, Wisconsin, I love beautiful, natural light for my outdoor photographs, but enjoy using soft lighting techniques to capture your memories in my studio. My goal is always to provide you with rich, vibrant true-to-life color photos.
Why the name "Glass Menagerie"?
When choosing a business name anonymity was important to me. Coming from a small town, everyone really does know everyone (...which I truly love). Having the quality and storytelling of my photographs speak for themselves was important to me. Being true to my artistic vision and style is one of the main focuses of my photography, and I want people to come to me because they share in that vision for their personal images.
The idea for my business name is came from the Tennessee Williams play, "The Glass Menagerie". In the story, one of the main characters has a collection of glass figurines called the glass menagerie. She spends hours caring for these figurines in keeping them perfectly displayed and arranged. Many times in the story she uses them to escape to a different time or place. If you think about it, photos are like that. We display them, arrange them, and allow the images captured in them to transport us to different times in our lives. Our photos are truly our own little glass menagerie. A collection of our modern moments transformed into vintage, treasured memories.
